Challenge: A national wireless service provider was growing rapidly and could not continue to support operations with its existing billing system. Because its information technology department was also unable to keep up with this growth, the client replaced its original integrator’s testing team with the one from QA Consultants to oversee the implementation of the new billing system. In addition to providing assistance with project management (from the quality perspective), the firm helped to develop new billing processes, managed the data conversion and tested the new system’s functional and reporting capabilities.
Results: As a result the client’s system was implemented in half the time of any previous deployment of this software.

— Facilitated data cleansing.
— Performed converted data audits.
— Resolved issues in the conversion logic.
— Developed and executed a User Acceptance test, which involved:
Developing a test coverage map of end-user and reports functionality.
Generating functional and reports test cases.
Establishing templates for test execution management and metrics.
The team also tested the infrastructure, specifically the call center infrastructure’s connectivity to the billing software servers and provided LAN and WAN capacity planning.
